Súni Joensen (1983) is a lighting designer currently based in the Faroe Islands, but spends a lot of time working in Denmark.


His work is primarily in theatre, but he also works with lighting design for television, live-musik and architecture.


He graduated from The danish national school of performing arts in June 2016.


He is a founding member of the theater-collective TOETT (The Other Eye of The Tiger).

2001-2005 - Studied as an electrician

AWARDS AND SCHOLARSHIPS

2020 - Statens Kunstfond (Danish Arts Foundation)
Special prize for lighting design for the three plays: Bonnie & Clyde, Ordet and NUL

2012 - Nominated for a Gríma award in Iceland for
Best Lighting Design for his first professional play Ævintýrum Múnkhásuns
